C4K is a STEAM program combining mentoring and technology to prepare youth in Charlottesville/Albemarle for brighter futures. They offer a drop-in clubhouse, workshops, and a 1:1 mentoring program, where students in grades 6-12 are paired with a mentor to work on a project of the student’s choice. Concentrating on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, students can learn skills in a variety of fields from robotics, coding, and game design, to sculpture, painting, and photography.

We spoke with Hawa, a student enrolled in C4K, along with C4K’s Recruitment and Retention Coordinator, Tricia Howell, for this Hear Together profile. You can listen at the audio link below, and find out more about C4K’s programming and enrollment here.
