The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Virginia (NAMI) promotes mental health for all Virginians through support, education, and advocacy.  All of their services, which include the statewide HelpLine, support groups, peer training, and much more, are open to the public.

Their largest fundraiser of the year is NAMIWalks Virginia. This year, they will host the first in-person Walk since 2019, and it will be at the Diamond in Richmond on Saturday, October 8th from 10am to 2pm. The Walk route is 5K, and Walk Day festivities include live music by the Ben Phelps Project. There will be food trucks as well, including Not Your Mama’s and Sammich. Door prizes have been donated by local businesses, including Josephine’s Beauty Bar and Chop Suey Books. There will be a silent online auction with items from their partners, including the Latin Ballet of Virginia, the Science Museum of Virginia, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
