Piedmont Virginia Community College is celebrating the life and legacy of Beryl Solla, WNRN’s own Culture Monkey, who passed away in February. As the chair of PVCC’s art department for over 15 years, Beryl nurtured students, curated original exhibits supporting regional artists, and initiated events and programs like Let There Be Light, Chocolate Chow Down, Art Day for high school students, and more.

PVCC’s exhibit, Solla World: The Hailing and Wailing Wall for Beryl, invites those who were touched by Solla’s work to create and post an homage, share memories and messages on the gallery wall and view works of art created in memoriam. Flowers are welcome. The exhibition is located in the North Gallery of the V. Earl Dickinson Building, and is open Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m, through May 22nd.
