The Allegheny Mountain Institute is a nonprofit organization that works to cultivate healthy communities through food and education. They invite you to attend their Open House on Saturday, August 20, from 1-5pm at the Allegheny Farm in western Highland County.
While there, you can explore their farm campus and enjoy a day in the mountains. AMI Fellows will guide you on tours, explain their growing practices, and provide information about their 18-month Farm and Food System Fellowship. They will share the work they’re doing to integrate farming, nutritious vegetables, and education into food systems and outreach initiatives in our area schools and hospitals.
There will be farm-fresh appetizers and produce grown on-site for purchase. More information is online at amifellows.org.
