Fleet Foxes on World Cafe

Friday March 19th, 6-8pm

Robin Pecknold, leader of Fleet Foxes, was living in New York City and halfway through making the latest Fleet Foxes album, when Covid changed everything last Spring. At first, it was a struggle to work on the record, but then – thanks to a lot of time spent driving around in his car – the lyrics for the record started pouring out. On the next World Cafe, Pecknold talks about being creative in tough times, and we hear some live recordings of the songs.

Jorma Kaukonen and John Hurlbut Home Studio Session

Guitarist Jorma Kaukonen is a towering figure in rock guitardom for his work with Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane. During his widely watched Saturday night livestreams from his guitar camp and venue, Fur Peach Ranch, fellow guitarist John Hurlbut (the venue’s manager) made a splash during a tribute to the late John Prine. The chemistry was undeniable and Hurlbut became a regular guest. The pair talk about their new album The River Flows and share songs with Bob Mosolgo in this session.
