Download (Jason Haag, a.k.a. DJ AudioRapture)

Jason is a German native who grew up in the epicenter of the electronic music explosion: Frankfurt, Germany. The DJ sets of Sven Väth and Talla 2XLC ripped him out of the grip of pop music in the mid-80s... and he never looked back. In the early and mid-90s, he DJed small and mid-sized raves in Germany and also released a few 12-inches, ranging from technohouse and acid to breakbeats.

He came to Charlottesville in 1998 and began hosting "Download" in 1999 with Lars Casteen and Max Fenton, who both went on to different pastures in the meantime.

These days, you can also find Jason DJing (as DJ AudioRapture) at "The Dawning" in Charlottesville about once a month. Join the AudioRapture group to receive announcements of future shows and projects, as well as Download playlists.

The sound of Download has both changed and stayed the same over the years -- while all hosts had their different styles and influences, the songs they picked always represented new and interesting ways in electronic music. And that's what Download is all about: bringing you the best in a wide variety of electronic music.
