Decade of Difference features Guy Clark. Guy Clark grew up in Texas, but spent most of his songwriting career in Nashville. He released over 20 albums in his career and was a sounding board and mentor for fellow songwriters. Many of the songs on his first album, Old No. 1, were covered by others including Jerry Jeff Walker advance of “Desperados on a Train” in 1973, well before Old No. 1 album came out in 1975. WNRN played another well covered track from this initial album “L.A. Freeway” by Guy Clark.

Guy Clark only put out three studio albums in the 1980s. Many people had hits with his tunes in this decade including Bobby Bare with “New Cut Highway,” Ricky Skaggs “Heartbroke,” Vince Gill  “Oklahoma Borderline” plus The Highwaymen did a version of “Desperados on a Train.”  WNRN played the talking blues and extraordinary song from Guy Clark “The Randall Knife” on a Decade of Difference.
