They play a live set in the studio. And in today’s interview, we’ll hear how the album relates to Traver’s recent battle with ovarian cancer, Toth’s getting sober, and the Dalai Lama.

Coming Up On World Cafe….

Today on the World Cafe, David Dye welcomes Chuck Prophet, whose work includes an impressive solo catalogue, as well as compositions and co-writes for Bruce Springsteen, Alejandro Escovedo, and many others. His latest album, Bobby Fuller Died For Your Sins, pays homage to his music idols like David Bowie and the tragic rocker who inspired its title. We’ll hear all about the project today, and Prophet and his band play live.

Coming Up On World Cafe…

David Dye welcomes The Dean Ween Group on the World Cafe. The alt-rock band Ween developed a cult following in the ‘90s before Mickey Melchiondo and Aaron Freeman, a.k.a. Dean and Gene Ween, parted ways. Now, Melchiondo has put together a funky new band for his first solo release, called The Deaner Album. We’ll hear about his personal and musical transition today, and they play live in the studio.

Catch The World Cafe, weekdays from 6-8pm on WNRN.
