Careers at WNRNJess
WNRN offers internships to people all over Central Virginia. School credit is available at many Colleges and High Schools for WNRN internships.
WNRN considers an internship to be a semester-length position that is directly affiliated with an accredited College or University and as such, we require that each intern receive official credit from their school as a condition of the internship. Applicants must provide WNRN with contact information for their institution’s advisor from the department accrediting the internship along with required evaluation materials from that advisor/department. All candidates will be given an interview prior to starting each internship and are subject to a background check. Additionally, application does not guarantee appointment. WNRN is limited in its ability by the size of its staff and facilities to provide a comprehensive intern experience to every applicant. Application should be made no less than 2 months prior to the desired start date.
Any person who does not have a College or University affiliation and cannot receive course credit is considered to be a volunteer and not an intern and thus is subject to our volunteer agreement and the understanding that no official evaluation or compensation will be given for that person’s donation of time.
We encourage any member of our listening audience to volunteer with us in any of the many areas in which we need ongoing help to keep WNRN growing as a 501(c)3 non-profit public radio station.
