Army veterans Darryl and Roseann Mooney are stopping in Charlottesville as part of their epic 4,000 mile cycling journey from Washington State to Washington D.C. in support of Wounded Warriors and Veterans. Riding a tandem bicycle, the Mooneys are traveling coast to coast in support of CAUSE and their missions. They embarked on their journey on June 29th and their homecoming will be on the National Mall in D.C. on October 6th.

CAUSE (COMFORT FOR AMERICA’S UNIFORMED SERVICES) has been providing comfort services for America’s military wounded returning from Iraq and Afghanistan for ten years. With an estimated 320,000 suffering from TBI, an estimated 400,000 living with PTSD, and over 1,500 amputees, America’s service members and their families will continue to battle the visible and invisible wounds of war for decades to come. Cause is determined to “be here for those who are there for us®” and the launch of this inaugural Warrior Ride is a shining example of how individuals across America are showing their support.

The couple will be cycling into White Hall, VA on Tuesday, Oct 1st and we are hosting a welcome event for them at King Family Vineyard. Peyton Tochterman is going to perform and there will be a small silent auction from 5-7p. The Facebook event page is

Also, Peyton Tochterman has a strong personal connection with the event (he took a life-altering trip to Afghanistan in June, 2012 to represent the United States and show how diplomacy can be shaped by the musical arts, and as I mentioned above, will be performing.
